Description, Responsibilities, and Duties

  • Plan and implement effective instruction and assessment driven by student inquiry and aligned with Voyagers’ Philosophy.
  • Collaborate with students, families, and colleagues in support of our community.
  • Record and share student learning and experiences through documentation, narratives, and consistent Seesaw posts.
  • Lead the development of classroom cultures that foster relationships, student learning, student inquiry, and critical thinking.
  • Facilitate Parent/Teacher/Student Conferences.
  • Attend all school events.
  • Advocate with and on behalf of students and families.
  • Implement restorative practices to address conflict.
  • Monitor students inside and outside of classroom.
  • Attend and engage in weekly staff meetings, professional development, and professional collaboration
  • Seek, reflect, and learn from feedback.
  • Support the operation of the school.

Qualification and Requirements

  • Prior experience working with children preferred.
  • 4 year college degree.
  • Experience or knowledge of the Reggio Emilia and Constructivist Approach to teaching.
  • Understand Project Based learning.
  • Be comfortable working in an outdoor “classroom” environment.
