Admissions at Voyagers’
Choosing a school is deeply personal. At Voyagers’ Community School, admissions is a conversation — not a checklist.
We take time to understand each child, each family, and whether our learning environment is the right fit. Our goal is clarity, alignment, and trust on both sides, so families can make confident decisions without pressure.
Our Admissions Philosophy
Voyagers’ is a relationship-driven, project-based learning community, guided by how children actually learn and grow.
Because of this, admissions is not about test scores, rankings, or checklists. It is about:
- Readiness and curiosity
- Shared values
- Mutual alignment
We seek families who value curiosity, creativity, individuality, and partnership — and children who will thrive in an environment rooted in trust, exploration, and meaningful work.
Voyagers’ is small by design—and intentional about who we serve.
Questions Families Often Ask Themselves
Many families come to Voyagers’ after months—or years—of quietly questioning whether school should feel this hard.
- Why does my child seem capable at home but shut down at school?
- Is this just a phase—or a signal worth listening to?
- What if my child needs a different pace, not more pressure?
If these questions feel familiar, you’re not alone.
The Admissions Process
Step 1: Visit & Explore
Tours are the best way to experience Voyagers’. You’ll see learning in action, visit our spaces, and ask questions. Children are welcome — we want them to experience the environment, too.
Step 2: Conversation & Fit
After your visit, we’ll schedule a conversation to learn more about your child—their interests, strengths, challenges, and learning history. This helps us determine whether Voyagers’ is a strong match for your family.
Step 3: Enrollment & Planning
If Voyagers’ feels like the right fit, we’ll extend an enrollment offer and begin planning thoughtfully for your child’s transition.
Step 4: A Thoughtful Transition
Transitions matter. We collaborate with families to ensure each child’s start is intentional, supported, and paced appropriately—especially for younger learners and students coming from other school settings.

Tuition & Access
Clear, Honest Tuition—Designed for Access
For the 2026–2027 school year, Voyagers’ has realigned tuition to more accurately reflect who we serve and how families experience our school.
Preschool tuition ranges from $10,900 to $20,000, depending on age and enrollment schedule.
K–12 tuition is capped below $25,000.
This decision was intentional. We wanted tuition to be clear, aligned, and accessible, so cost does not become a barrier before families have the opportunity to truly explore Voyagers’.
We are always happy to discuss tuition openly and transparently during the admissions process.
Flexible Tuition
A Thoughtful Partnership with Families
Flexible Tuition is our way of partnering with families to support access while maintaining the long-term health and sustainability of the school.
Rather than a one-size-fits-all model, Flexible Tuition allows us to consider each family’s circumstances with care and discretion.
Flexible Tuition:
- Is available to Kindergarten – High School families who enroll full time,
- Is discussed privately and respectfully
- Carries no stigma and no impact on admissions decisions
- Has no bearing on a child’s experience at school
Our goal is to create a community that is diverse, stable, and supported, while honoring the dignity of every family.
For Families Navigating Out-of-District Placement
The Naples Act
Voyagers’ Community School is an independent, accredited school designed for families seeking a relational, project-based learning environment.
We are not a special education school. We do not offer self-contained or specialized programs.
We can serve students with learning differences that require small group, relational, and highly responsive environments. We consider enrollment for students who experience ongoing challenges related to:
- Anxiety or school refusal
- Executive functioning differences
- Autism spectrum profiles
- ADHD
- Dyslexia, dysgraphia, or dyscalculia
- Social-emotional regulation challenges
In limited circumstances, New Jersey public school districts may determine that a student’s educational needs are best met in a small, independent school setting. When this occurs, Voyagers’ may be considered for placement only when there is strong alignment and mutual fit.
Our Approach
Individualized Support & Naples Placement
Voyagers’ Community School serves students with a wide range of learning profiles. For some children, meaningful access to learning requires individualized supports beyond tuition alone. In these cases, Voyagers’ may serve as an out-of-district placement under the New Jersey Naples Act.
This pathway allows public school districts to place a student in an approved private school when they are unable to provide a Free Appropriate Public Education (FAPE) within their own system.
What Is a Naples Placement?
A Naples placement is a district-funded placement for a student whose learning needs cannot be met in their home public school—even with accommodations or in-district services.
When a Naples placement is approved:
- The public school district remains financially responsible for tuition and services
- The student attends Voyagers’ as a full member of our learning community
- Support services are delivered in alignment with the student’s Individualized Education Program (IEP)
Who This May Be Appropriate For
Naples placements are typically considered for students who experience ongoing challenges related to:
- Anxiety or school refusal
- Executive functioning differences
- Autism spectrum profiles
- ADHD
- Dyslexia, dysgraphia, or dyscalculia
- Social-emotional regulation challenges
- Learning differences that require small group, relational, and highly responsive environments
Placement decisions are made by the district—not by Voyagers’—and require current evaluations and documentation.
How Support Works at Voyagers’
When a student attends Voyagers’ through a Naples placement, support is integrated into daily learning, not separated from it.
Supports may include:
- Small group or individualized academic support
- Embedded executive functioning and organizational scaffolds
- Social-emotional support within the classroom and community
- Collaboration with specialists such as learning consultants, therapists, or district providers
Voyagers’ does not operate as a traditional “program model.” Supports are designed around the child, in partnership with families and professionals, and adjusted as the student grows.
The Role of Families and Districts
Families often initiate conversations about Naples placement when they recognize that their child’s current school environment is not meeting their needs.
Voyagers’ can:
- Meet with families to discuss fit and readiness
- Provide documentation describing our learning environment and supports
- Collaborate with districts during the evaluation and placement process
Final placement decisions, service determinations, and funding are made by the student’s public school district.
Important Considerations
- Naples placements are not guaranteed and vary by district
- Additional services beyond tuition may be required, depending on the student’s needs
- Voyagers’ maintains clear boundaries around scope of services to ensure sustainability and integrity of our learning community
Our goal is always alignment—between the child, the family, the school, and the supports required.
Next Steps
If you are exploring a Naples placement for your child, we encourage you to:
- Schedule a conversation with our admissions team
- Share relevant evaluations or documentation
- Ask questions about fit, readiness, and process
Choosing the right placement is deeply personal. We are here to help families navigate that process with clarity and honesty.
Admissions & Tuition FAQs
Common questions families ask as they explore Voyagers’.
Fit and Philosophy
Students who thrive at Voyagers’ are curious, thoughtful, and capable learners who benefit from strong relationships, flexibility, and meaningful work. Many of our students have felt constrained, misunderstood, or disengaged in more traditional school settings and are seeking a learning environment that honors their individuality and pace.
Voyagers’ may not be the right fit for families seeking a conventional school model with large class sizes, standardized pacing, frequent testing, or competitive ranking. We believe clarity serves everyone best and encourage families to choose environments that align with their values and expectations.
Voyagers’ is intentionally small, relationship-driven, and project-based. Learning is organized around inquiry, real-world experiences, and deep engagement rather than rigid curricula or one-size-fits-all instruction. Students are known well, supported as whole people, and encouraged to take ownership of their learning.
Admissions Process
Admissions at Voyagers’ is a conversation, not a competition. Families typically begin by scheduling a tour, meeting our team, and learning more about our philosophy and programs. From there, we work together to determine whether Voyagers’ is a good mutual fit.
Yes. Voyagers’ offers rolling admissions when space is available. Because our programs are intentionally small, openings may occur at different times throughout the year.
Tuition & Affordability
Tuition reflects the individualized, relationship-centered nature of our programs. Because we intentionally maintain small class sizes and high levels of support, tuition varies by program and level.
Flexible Tuition is Voyagers’ commitment to making our programs accessible to families with a range of financial circumstances. Through this model, tuition is adjusted based on a family’s financial context while preserving the integrity of our learning environment.
Families may apply for Flexible Tuition as part of the admissions process. Our team will guide you through the steps and answer any questions along the way.
Yes. Tuition is reviewed annually and may change to reflect program costs, staffing, and sustainability. Families are notified in advance of any changes.
Logistics & Structure
A typical day at Voyagers’ includes a balance of focused academic work, project-based learning, collaboration, creative exploration, and time for movement. Days are intentionally designed to feel calm, purposeful, and engaging rather than rushed or overstimulating.

Voyagers’ follows a school-year calendar with defined start and end dates, holidays, and breaks. Daily schedules vary by program and age group, reflecting developmental needs and learning goals.
Voyagers’ prioritizes meaningful feedback, reflection, and growth over traditional grading. Documentation and transcripts are provided as appropriate, particularly for middle and high school students, and we work closely with families to support future transitions.
Growth & Transitions
We support students and families thoughtfully through transitions, whether to other schools, college pathways, vocational programs, or alternative routes. Because students are known well, guidance is individualized and aligned with each learner’s goals and readiness.
High school students engage in purposeful learning that builds independence, self-awareness, and real-world readiness. Planning is collaborative and individualized, focusing on next steps that make sense for each student rather than a single prescribed path.
Support & Alignment
Voyagers’ is designed to be responsive and flexible. Through small class sizes, close relationships, and individualized instruction, we support a wide range of learners. Our focus is on understanding how each student learns best and creating conditions where they can thrive.
No — and that’s intentional. Voyagers’ is best for families who value relationships, flexibility, and depth over standardization and competition. Our admissions process is designed to help families make thoughtful, aligned choices.
Next Steps
The best next step is to schedule a conversation or visit. Admissions at Voyagers’ is personal by design, and we look forward to learning more about your child and your hopes for their education.
